Notes
Goldenrod (Solidago stricta) is a perennial for pollinator gardens, meadows, and rain gardens. It is hardy to USDA zone 5, or down to -20°F (-29°C). This plant likes full sun and average to wet, sandy, loamy, or clay soil. It grows 3 to 6 feet tall and bears yellow flowers on wand-like stalks that draw butterflies, bees, and birds. Deer usually look elsewhere for a meal. The narrow leaves press against the stem.
Pairs well with Cardinal flower, Big bluestem, and Hardy hibiscus.
