Notes

'Goldspire' sugar maple (Acer saccharum 'Goldspire') is a tree for specimen use, hedges, and privacy screens. It is hardy to USDA zone 4, or down to -30°F (-34°C). This plant likes full or part sun and average to moist, sandy, loamy, or clay soil. It grows slowly into a dense, upright form. Yellow-green flowers open in spring and again in summer, and they draw butterflies, bees, and birds. Deer tend to browse other plants first.

Pairs well with Scarlet oak, Heather, Creeping jenny, and Queen of Night tulip.
