Notes

'Sisseton' sugar maple (Acer saccharum 'Sisseton') is a tree for specimen planting, privacy screens, and shade gardens. It is hardy to USDA zone 3, or down to -40°F (-40°C). This plant likes full or part sun and average to moist, sandy, loamy, or clay soil. Deer tend to browse other plants first. It grows slowly into a dense shape and turns color in fall. Greenish flowers open in spring and summer, and they attract butterflies, bees, and birds.

Pairs well with White oak, Woodland phlox, Blue Angel hosta, and Blue Muffin arrowwood viburnum.
