Notes

'Green Mountain' sugar maple (Acer saccharum 'Green Mountain') is a tree for specimen planting, shade gardens, and privacy screens. It is hardy to USDA zone 4, or down to -30°F (-34°C). This plant likes full or part sun and average to moist, sandy, loamy, or clay soil. It is not a favorite of deer, though hungry deer will eat almost anything. It has a dense habit and grows slowly. Small yellowish green flowers attract bees, butterflies, and birds.

Pairs well with Scarlet oak, Obsidian coral bells, and Smooth hydrangea.
