Notes

'Gratitude' peony (Paeonia 'Gratitude') is a shrub for borders, cut flowers, cottage gardens, and specimen planting. It is hardy to USDA zone 4, or down to -30°F (-34°C). This plant likes full or part sun and average to moist, loamy soil. It blooms in early to late spring with orangy creamy pink petals edged in red, and butterflies visit the flowers. Derek Irvine bred it. It sits low on the menu for deer and rabbits.

Pairs well with Catmint, Queen of Night tulip, Jackmanii clematis, and Damask rose.
