Notes
'Grazioso' tree peony (Paeonia suffruticosa 'Grazioso') is a shrub for borders, perennial beds, and cut flowers. It is hardy to USDA zone 4, or down to -30°F (-34°C). This plant likes full or part sun, average moisture, and loamy soil. Its single carmine-pink flowers measure about 7 inches across and have dark, nearly black flares. The blooms are fragrant, though not strongly. Irmtraud Rieck bred it, and it grows upright and spreading to about 5 feet.
Pairs well with Rainforest Sunrise hosta, Stella de Oro daylily, Christmas fern, and Prairie dropseed.
