Notes

Grey sedge (Carex divulsa) is a grass for rock gardens, accents, ground cover, and naturalized areas. It is hardy to USDA zone 5, or down to -20°F (-29°C). This plant likes full sun to full shade and dry to moist, sandy, loamy, or clay soil. It is not a favorite of deer, though hungry deer will eat almost anything. Its arching green leaves grow 12 to 24 inches tall and wide. Pale green blooms mature to light brown in spring and early summer, and bees visit them.

Pairs well with Lanceleaf coreopsis, Butterfly milkweed, and Prairie dropseed.
