Notes

'Happy Valley' tree peony (Paeonia suffruticosa 'Happy Valley') is a shrub for borders and cut flowers. It is hardy to USDA zone 4, or down to -30°F (-34°C). This plant likes full or part sun, average moisture, and loamy soil. It grows upright and fast, and it can reach 8 to 10 feet tall in 10 years. The fragrant pink flowers have ruffled petals with red flares and open in mid to late spring. Slight suckering is easy to control by pruning.

Pairs well with Weigela, Francee hosta, and Carnaval De Nice tulip.
