Notes

'Haralson' apple (Malus domestica 'Haralson') is a tree for the food garden. It is hardy to USDA zone 4, or down to -30°F (-34°C). This plant likes full or part sun and dry to moist, sandy, loamy, or clay soil. This apple is grown for fresh eating, cooking, and juice, and the fruit keeps for 3 months or more. The University of Minnesota Fruit Breeding Farm bred it in 1913. It is not self-fertile, so plant a second apple nearby for pollination.

Pairs well with Pink Lemonade blueberry, Flowering quince, and Irish moss.
