Notes

Hardy ginger (Hedychium flavum) is a perennial for borders, tropical-style gardens, and containers. It is hardy to USDA zone 8, or down to 10°F (-12°C). This plant likes full sun. Yellow flowers open in early to late summer and again in early to mid autumn on stems that reach six to ten feet tall. Mulch it with fallen leaves in winter. You can also grow it in a pot and protect it in a frost free spot for winter.

Pairs well with Lemon Grass lemongrass, Labyrinth dahlia, and Artichoke.
