Notes

'Tara' orange hardy ginger (Hedychium coccineum 'Tara') is a perennial for borders, containers, and pollinator gardens. It is hardy to USDA zone 8, or down to 10°F (-12°C). This plant likes full or part sun and average to moist soil of most types. It grows fast and stands erect, reaching about 5 to 6 feet tall. The fragrant blooms open in summer and again in autumn, and they attract butterflies, hummingbirds, and birds.

Pairs well with Pineapple sage, Calla lily, and Vermillionaire cuphea.
