Notes
'Tahitian Flame' hardy ginger (Hedychium 'Tahitian Flame') is a perennial for borders, containers, and pollinator gardens. It is hardy to USDA zone 8, or down to 10°F (-12°C). This plant likes full sun to full shade and average to wet soil of most types. Pale orange, fragrant flowers appear in early to late summer and again in early to late autumn. Butterflies, hummingbirds, and birds visit the blooms. Keep it away from pets, since it is toxic to them.
Pairs well with Calla lily, Mexican petunia, and Mondo grass.
