Notes

Rock butterfly lily (Hedychium ellipticum) is a perennial for borders and containers. It is hardy to USDA zone 8, or down to 10°F (-12°C). This plant likes full or part sun and average to moist, sandy, loamy, or chalky soil. Fragrant white flowers sit in clusters on arching stems, with long red stamens. Mulch with fallen leaves in winter. You can also grow it in a pot and protect it in a frost free spot for winter.

Pairs well with Pineapple sage, Totally Tangerine dahlia, and Mondo grass.
