Notes

'Helena' peony (Paeonia lactiflora 'Helena') is a perennial for borders, cut flowers, and perennial beds. It is hardy to USDA zone 3, or down to -40°F (-40°C). This plant likes full or part sun, average moisture, and loamy soil. The fully double blooms are cream with apricot shading and red flares, and they open in early spring. The foliage stays clean and healthy. Walter J. Guille bred it in 1952.

Pairs well with Coralbells, Sedge, and Black Hero tulip.
