Notes
'Hercules' panicle hydrangea (Hydrangea paniculata 'Hercules') is a shrub for cottage gardens, sunny mixed borders, hedges, and cut flowers. It is hardy to USDA zone 3, or down to -40°F (-40°C). This plant likes full or part sun. Its cone-shaped flower heads can reach 16 inches long and open green, then turn creamy white and blush pink. Strong burgundy stems hold the blooms upright in all weather. The flowers are fragrant and dry well.
Pairs well with Amur maple, Bells of Ireland, Tall fescue, and Carlton daffodil.
