Notes

'Hifalutin' peony (Paeonia lactiflora 'Hifalutin') is a perennial for borders, cut flowers, and perennial beds. It is hardy to USDA zone 3, or down to -40°F (-40°C). This plant likes full or part sun, average moisture, and loamy soil. Its crimson double flowers have a full rose form with almost no blue tones. Strong stems hold the blooms upright above dark green foliage. Myron D. Bigger bred it in 1960.

Pairs well with Ice plant, Prairie dropseed, Black Hero tulip, and Hollyhock.
