Notes

'Hispana' peony (Paeonia 'Hispana') is a perennial for borders, cut flowers, cottage gardens, and specimen planting. It is hardy to USDA zone 3, or down to -40°F (-40°C). This plant likes full or part sun, average moisture, and loamy soil. Its early semi-double flowers open coral pink and fade to light pink with blurred white edges. Deer and rabbits tend to browse other plants first. Joshua Scholten bred this upright plant, which stands 30 inches tall and needs no staking.

Pairs well with Fire Island hosta, Prairie dropseed, African Queen lily, and Annabelle hydrangea.
