Notes

'Homebush' rhododendron (Rhododendron 'Homebush') is a shrub for borders, specimen planting, shade gardens, and woodland settings. It is hardy to USDA zone 5, or down to -20°F (-29°C). This plant likes full sun to full shade and average to moist, sandy, loamy, or clay soil. It is not a favorite of deer or rabbits, though hungry ones will eat almost anything. It stays evergreen and blooms in red and purple in spring and again in autumn. Bees, butterflies, hummingbirds, and birds visit the flowers.

Pairs well with Japanese forest grass, Sum and Substance hosta, and Lily of the valley.
