Notes

'Hot Chana' Japanese maple (Acer palmatum 'Hot Chana') is a small tree for specimen, accent, and woodland use. It is hardy to USDA zone 5, or down to -20°F (-29°C). This plant likes average to moist soil. It grows slowly and forms a broad shape, so give it room. Bees visit the spring flowers, and birds visit the tree too. Deer rarely make it their first choice.

Pairs well with Woodland phlox, Japanese forest grass, Primrose, and Incrediball hydrangea.
