Notes

'Ida' common hyacinth (Hyacinthus orientalis 'Ida') is a bulb for borders, containers, and rock gardens. It is hardy to USDA zone 4, or down to -30°F (-34°C). This plant likes full or part sun, average moisture, and loamy soil. It has fragrant purple-red flowers in early to late spring, and bees visit them. Deer and rabbits tend to pass it by. J.F.M. Hogervorst bred it.

Pairs well with Queen of Night tulip, Blue fescue, and Wide Brim hosta.
