Notes

'Illini Pom Pom' peony (Paeonia lactiflora 'Illini Pom Pom') is a perennial for borders, cut flowers, and perennial beds. It is hardy to USDA zone 3, or down to -40°F (-40°C). This plant likes full or part sun, average moisture, and loamy soil. The rose-pink double flowers form full balls with no stamens. Strong stems carry the blooms like rose popcorn balls. D. Steve Varner bred it, and it blooms in late spring.

Pairs well with Rainbow's End hosta, Sedge, and Spanish bluebell.
