Notes

'Inchmery' carnation (Dianthus 'Inchmery') is a perennial for borders, rock gardens, cottage gardens, and containers. It is hardy to USDA zone 3, or down to -40°F (-40°C). This plant likes full or part sun and dry to average, sandy, loamy, or clay soil. It bears fragrant, pale shell pink flowers in spring and again in summer, and butterflies and bees visit the blooms. It is not a favorite of deer or rabbits, though hungry ones will eat almost anything.

Pairs well with Pyrethrum, Nodding onion, and Blonde Ambition blue grama.
