Notes
'Indigo Awesome Blossom' tree peony (Paeonia suffruticosa 'Indigo Awesome Blossom') is a shrub for borders, perennial beds, and cut flowers. It is hardy to USDA zone 4, or down to -30°F (-34°C). This plant likes full or part sun, average moisture, and loamy soil. Harold Entsminger bred it. The large, double, blue-purple flowers have black flares at the base and frilled petals. They open from mid to late spring into early summer and have no fragrance.
Pairs well with Sum and Substance hosta, Iris, Little Lime panicle hydrangea, and Christmas fern.
