Notes
'Innocent Star' iris (Iris germanica 'Innocent Star') is a perennial for borders, cut flowers, and cottage gardens. It is hardy to USDA zone 3, or down to -40°F (-40°C). This plant likes full or part sun and dry to average, sandy or loamy soil. Its ruffled maroon petals have a cream or orange splotch in the center. Deer and rabbits usually look elsewhere for a meal. The fragrant blooms open in late spring and again in early to late summer.
Pairs well with Stargazer lily, Knapweed, and Blonde Ambition blue grama.
