Notes

'Iona' peony (Paeonia lactiflora 'Iona') is a perennial for borders, cut flowers, and perennial beds. It is hardy to USDA zone 3, or down to -40°F (-40°C). This plant likes full or part sun, average moisture, and loamy soil. The flowers are double, so each bloom is full of petals. Plant it where it has room to grow and cut the stems for bouquets. Alonzo B. Franklin bred it.

Pairs well with Woodland phlox, Blue Angel hosta, Nodding onion, and Christmas fern.
