Notes

'Irene' amaryllis (Hippeastrum 'Irene') is a bulb for borders, containers, and cut flowers. It is hardy to USDA zone 7, or down to 0°F (-18°C). This plant likes full or part sun and average to moist, sandy, loamy, or clay soil. It is not a favorite of deer or rabbits, though hungry ones will eat almost anything. Its orange-red blooms open on plants about 14 inches tall, and the plant is drought tolerant.

Pairs well with Feverfew, Japanese forest grass, and Bush honeysuckle.
