Notes

'Red Lion' amaryllis (Hippeastrum 'Red Lion') is a bulb for borders and containers. It is hardy to USDA zone 8, or down to 10°F (-12°C). This plant likes full or part sun and dry to moist soil of most types. It is not a favorite of deer or rabbits, though hungry ones will eat almost anything. The flowers are a rich red, and each bulb sends up 1-2 flowering stems. Grow it in a pot outside in summer and fertilize well.

Pairs well with Totally Tangerine dahlia, Lemongrass, and Hummingbird's mint.
