Notes

'Iroquois' peony (Paeonia lactiflora 'Iroquois') is a perennial for borders, cut flower gardens, and perennial beds. It is hardy to USDA zone 3, or down to -40°F (-40°C). This plant likes full or part sun, average moisture, and loamy soil. Its medium dark red flowers have a Japanese form with golden edges on the petaloids. The stems are stiff, so the blooms hold up well. Edward Auten, Jr. bred it.

Pairs well with Great blue lobelia, Woolly yarrow, Blonde Ambition blue grama, and Carlton daffodil.
