Notes

'Jackmanii Purpurea' clematis (Clematis 'Jackmanii Purpurea') is a vine for borders and containers, and it needs little care. It is hardy to USDA zone 5, or down to -20°F (-29°C). This plant likes full or part sun and average to moist soil of most types. The purple flowers have a lighter center and red stripes, and bees, butterflies, and hummingbirds visit them. It sits low on the menu for deer and rabbits. Wim Snoeijer bred it.

Pairs well with Ernest Markham clematis, New Dawn rose, and Bloodgood Japanese maple.
