Notes

'Jako' Chinese wisteria (Wisteria sinensis 'Jako') is a vine for borders. It is hardy to USDA zone 5, or down to -20°F (-29°C). This plant likes full or part sun and average to moist soil of most types. It climbs fast and has fragrant blooms in spring and again in summer, which butterflies and bees visit. Deer tend to browse other plants first. Give it a strong support, since it can reach a long way.

Pairs well with Festiva Maxima peony, Damask rose, and Autumn fern.
