Notes

Chinese wisteria (Wisteria sinensis) is a vine for borders. It is hardy to USDA zone 5, or down to -20°F (-29°C). This plant likes full or part sun and average to moist soil of most types. Its fragrant blue violet flowers open in spring and again in summer, and bees and butterflies visit them. This vine grows fast, so give it a strong support. It is not a favorite of deer, though hungry deer will eat almost anything.

Pairs well with Climbing hydrangea, Korean spice viburnum, and Orange daylily.
