Notes

'Jayhawker' peony (Paeonia lactiflora 'Jayhawker') is a perennial for borders, cut flowers, and perennial beds. It is hardy to USDA zone 3, or down to -40°F (-40°C). This plant likes full or part sun, average moisture, and loamy soil. Myron D. Bigger bred it in 1949. The fragrant, light pink double blooms open in early summer and hold their bomb shape well as they age. Stiff stems and clean light green foliage keep the plant tidy.

Pairs well with Francee hosta, Incrediball hydrangea, Ostrich fern, and Blue sage.
