Notes

'Jin Ke Zhuang Yuan' peony (Paeonia lactiflora 'Jin Ke Zhuang Yuan') is a perennial for borders, cut flowers, and perennial beds. It is hardy to USDA zone 3, or down to -40°F (-40°C). This plant likes full or part sun, average moisture, and loamy soil. Chengzhong Li bred it, and it blooms from spring into early summer. Purplish red petals are split by a ring of yellow stamens, and the blooms are fragrant. The upright plants reach about 33 inches tall.

Pairs well with Purrsian Blue nepeta, Hairy aster, Miss Kim lilac, and Spanish bluebell.
