Notes

'JN16' Texas redbud (Cercis canadensis 'JN16') is a tree for specimen planting, borders, pollinator gardens, and woodland edges. It is hardy to USDA zone 5, or down to -20°F (-29°C). This plant likes full or part sun and dry to moist, sandy, loamy, or clay soil. Lavender-pink flowers open in early to late spring and attract butterflies and bees. It is not a favorite of deer, though hungry deer will eat almost anything. The tree grows with multiple stems at a moderate pace.

Pairs well with Amsonia, Switchgrass, Oakleaf hydrangea, and Butterfly milkweed.
