Notes

'John Boots' montbretia (Crocosmia 'John Boots') is a bulb for borders, cut flowers, and cottage gardens. It is hardy to USDA zone 6, or down to -10°F (-23°C). This plant likes full or part sun and average to moist soil of most types. Yellow-orange flowers open from early to late summer and again from early to late autumn, and butterflies, hummingbirds, and bees visit them. Deer and rabbits tend to pass it by. Paul Boots bred it.

Pairs well with Monch tartarian aster, Black-eyed Susan, and Fountain grass.
