Notes

'Jolico' cornelian cherry (Cornus mas 'Jolico') is a tree for borders, specimen planting, hedges, and winter interest. It is hardy to USDA zone 4, or down to -30°F (-34°C). This plant likes full or part sun and average to moist, sandy, loamy, or clay soil. Deer rarely make it their first choice. It has a dense habit and grows at a moderate rate. Bees and birds visit it, and it blooms from early to late spring.

Pairs well with Star magnolia, Paperbark maple, New Jersey tea, and Christmas fern.
