Notes
'Jonalicious' apple (Malus domestica 'Jonalicious') is a tree for the food garden. It is hardy to USDA zone 5, or down to -20°F (-29°C). This plant likes full or part sun and dry to moist, sandy, loamy, or clay soil. Anna Morris Daniels bred it in 1933, and the fruit is grown for fresh eating and cooking. It is not self-fertile, so plant another apple nearby for pollination. Bees visit the spring flowers.
Pairs well with Pecan, Beautyberry, Amsonia, and Autumn fern.
