Notes

'Joy' peony (Paeonia 'Joy') is a perennial for borders, cut flowers, cottage gardens, and specimen planting. It is hardy to USDA zone 3, or down to -40°F (-40°C). This plant likes full or part sun, average moisture, and loamy soil. Its tall, upright growth carries dark green leaves and fragrant, bright rose pink cup-shaped flowers that attract bees and butterflies. Deer and rabbits rarely make it their first choice. Arthur Percy Saunders bred it.

Pairs well with First Frost hosta, Spiked speedwell, Carlton daffodil, and Standing Ovation little bluestem.
