Notes
'Jurassic Gold' alpine wood fern (Dryopteris wallichiana 'Jurassic Gold') is a fern for shade gardens, woodland settings, borders, and containers. It is hardy to USDA zone 5, or down to -20°F (-29°C). This plant likes part sun to full shade and average to wet soil of most types. New fronds emerge in a large flush in spring and then keep appearing through the season. Deer and rabbits tend to pass it by. In colder climates it is semi-evergreen to deciduous.
Pairs well with Patriot hosta, Fringed bleeding heart, Annabelle hydrangea, and Aureola Japanese forest grass.
