Notes

'Kidd's Orange Red' apple (Malus domestica 'Kidd's Orange Red') is a tree for the food garden, grown for fresh eating and juice. It is hardy to USDA zone 4, or down to -30°F (-34°C). This plant likes full or part sun and dry to moist, sandy, loamy, or clay soil. It blooms in early to late spring with dark pink flowers that attract bees. James Hutton Kidd bred it in 1924. It needs a partner apple tree nearby for pollination, and you can bend young branches toward horizontal to improve cropping.

Pairs well with Raspberry, Hyssop, and Wormwood.
