Notes

'Kigyoku' tree peony (Paeonia suffruticosa 'Kigyoku') is a shrub for borders, perennial beds, and cut flowers. It is hardy to USDA zone 4, or down to -30°F (-34°C). This plant likes full or part sun, average moisture, and loamy soil. The name 'Kigyoku' means Precious Jewel. Yokohama Nurseries introduced it in 1919. You can cut the blooms and bring them indoors for fresh arrangements in a vase.

Pairs well with Lenten rose, Sedge, and Black chokeberry.
