Notes

'King Arthur' delphinium (Delphinium elatum 'King Arthur') is a perennial for borders. It is hardy to USDA zone 3, or down to -40°F (-40°C). This plant likes full sun and average to moist, sandy, loamy, or chalky soil. Butterflies and hummingbirds visit the blooms from early to late summer. It is not a favorite of deer or rabbits, though hungry ones will eat almost anything. Plants grow 47 to 71 inches tall, so place them at the back of the border.

Pairs well with Globemaster allium, Album nettle-leaved mullein, and Royal Storm iris.
