Notes
'Klein' Swiss stone pine (Pinus cembra 'Klein') is a tree for specimen planting, accents, privacy screens, and winter interest. It is hardy to USDA zone 4, or down to -30°F (-34°C). This plant likes full sun, average moisture, and sandy or loamy soil. It grows slowly in a narrow, columnar shape, so it fits small spaces. This evergreen tolerates salt and attracts birds. It sits low on the menu for deer.
Pairs well with Royal Star star magnolia, American yellowwood, Hairy aster, and Gladiator ornamental onion.
