Notes

'Klondyke' rhododendron (Rhododendron 'Klondyke') is an evergreen shrub for borders, specimen plantings, and shade gardens. It is hardy to USDA zone 5, or down to -20°F (-29°C). This plant likes full sun to full shade and average to moist, sandy, loamy, or clay soil. Yellow flowers tinged with red open in early to late spring and smell sweet. Bees, butterflies, and hummingbirds visit the blooms. Deer and rabbits usually look elsewhere for a meal.

Pairs well with Japanese forest grass, Sum and Substance hosta, and Sweet bay magnolia.
