Notes

'Koto-no-ito' Japanese maple (Acer palmatum 'Koto-no-ito') is a tree for specimen, accent, container, and woodland use. It is hardy to USDA zone 5, or down to -20°F (-29°C). This plant likes full or part sun and average to moist soil of most types. It grows slowly into a broad form, and bees and birds visit it. It is not a favorite of deer or rabbits, though hungry ones will eat almost anything. Give it room to spread so you can enjoy its shape up close.

Pairs well with Midwinter Fire common dogwood, Spring snowflake, and Sweet woodruff.
