Notes

'La Lorraine' peony (Paeonia 'La Lorraine') is a shrub for borders, cottage gardens, specimen planting, and cut flowers. It is hardy to USDA zone 4, or down to -30°F (-34°C). This plant likes full or part sun and average to moist, loamy soil. Double blooms open in early to late spring in cream with light pink shading and a darker center. It sits low on the menu for deer and rabbits. Butterflies visit the flowers, and Victor Lemoine introduced it in 1913.

Pairs well with Susan magnolia, Maltese cross, Niobe clematis, and Royal Purple smoketree.
