Notes

'Laced Romeo' carnation (Dianthus 'Laced Romeo') is a perennial for borders, cut flowers, containers, and rock gardens. It is hardy to USDA zone 5, or down to -20°F (-29°C). This plant likes full or part sun and dry to average, sandy, loamy, or clay soil. Red blooms fringed with white open in spring and again in summer, and the flowers are fragrant. Deer and rabbits tend to pass it by. Butterflies and bees visit the flowers.

Pairs well with Blue fescue, Silver sage, and Ornamental onion.
