Notes

'Lakeland' apple (Malus domestica 'Lakeland') is a tree for the food garden. It is hardy to USDA zone 4, or down to -30°F (-34°C). This plant likes full or part sun and dry to moist, sandy, loamy, or clay soil. It blooms in early to late spring, and bees visit the flowers. The University of Minnesota Fruit Breeding Farm bred it in 1950 from an open pollinated seedling of 'Malinda'.

Pairs well with Plum, High-bush blueberry, Queen of Night tulip, and Blue fescue.
