Notes
Large-flowered rhododendron (Rhododendron magniflorum) is a shrub for woodland gardens, shade borders, and fragrant plantings. It is hardy to USDA zone 8, or down to 10°F (-12°C). This plant likes part sun to full shade. Creamy white flowers open in early to late summer and carry a rich fragrance. New leaves emerge reddish bronze in late summer and early fall. Because it grows late in the season, a summer feeding helps.
Pairs well with Autumn fern, White bigleaf hydrangea, and Calla lily.
