Notes
'Lightning Strike' toad lily (Tricyrtis hirta 'Lightning Strike') is a perennial for borders, shade gardens, and woodland settings. It is hardy to USDA zone 5, or down to -20°F (-29°C). This plant likes part sun to full shade and average to moist soil. Its arching stems carry gold-streaked leaves and spotted lavender flowers that bees, butterflies, and hummingbirds visit. Deer tend to browse other plants first. It grows slowly, so give it time to fill in.
Pairs well with Elegans hosta, Aureola Japanese forest grass, and Lady fern.
